Sleepin' Around

Sleepin' Around

In a culture that glorifies hustle and constant stimulation, rest often feels optional—but God designed it to be essential.

This month’s Teach ’n Preach: Sleepin’ Around, explores how sleep and rest impact the body, soul, and spirit. We’ll discuss what happens physiologically when the body is sleep deprived, how poor sleep affects emotional health and relationships, and the powerful biblical reminder found in Elijah’s story—sometimes what we need most is nourishment, rest, and God’s presence.

This evening offers practical insight, gentle reflection, and encouragement to reclaim rest as a healing rhythm—not a luxury or reward.

Smart Supplementation

Smart Supplementation is about moving from guessing to knowing. At this month’s Teach ’n Preach, you’re invited to learn why not all supplements are created equal, how quality and sourcing truly matter, and why “expensive” doesn’t always mean effective.

We’ll unpack the purpose of testing—shifting from quick fixes to addressing root causes—while clearing up common myths like “supplements are a scam.”

You’ll also learn why modern food often falls short nutritionally, how toxins like microplastics impact the body, and when targeted, high-quality supplementation (backed by third-party testing) can play a meaningful role in detox, healing, and long-term health.

Mental Health Matters

Mental Health Matters

Mental health is something every single one of us has—because we all have a mind, will, and emotions. At NGFC, we believe mental health is not a niche topic or something reserved for “when things get really bad,” but a foundational part of whole-body, whole-person health. Just like physical health, our mental health requires care, support, and intentional rhythms.

During this Teach ‘n Preach, we’ll gently and honestly explore what mental health actually is, why it matters, and how it impacts our relationships, physical health, decision-making, and our spiritual lives. We’ll talk about reducing stigma, increasing understanding, and recognizing that struggling does not mean you’re broken—it means you’re human.

We’ll also take a whole-person approach, addressing the role of the body (nutrition, movement, rest), the soul (thoughts, emotions, and will), and the spirit. With wisdom, compassion, and scriptural grounding, we’ll discuss spiritual warfare in a way that brings clarity—not shame—reminding us that mental health challenges are not a sign of weak faith. You were never meant to carry this alone, and community matters.

Nutrition 102: Fueling the Body God Gave You

Your body is a masterpiece—fearfully and wonderfully made by God, designed to heal, grow, and thrive when given the right support. But in a world full of fad diets, toxic food culture, and overwhelming nutrition advice, it’s easy to feel confused, defeated, or stuck in survival mode.

At this month’s Teach ’n Preach, we’re going deeper than the basics. “Nutrition 102: Fueling the Body God Gave You” is about reclaiming the purpose of food as fuel—not punishment, not perfection. We’ll unpack the power of a healthy mindset, the dangers of diet myths, and why your goals—whether it’s fat loss, muscle gain, hormone balance, or better energy—deserve a personalized and grace-filled approach.

Together, we’ll explore what body composition really means, how to eat for your specific needs, and how to break free from all-or-nothing thinking. You’ll learn how to read labels without fear, discover the value of whole-food swaps and nourishing brands, and walk away with real tools for meal planning and prep that work whether you’re cooking for one or feeding a family.

Most importantly, you’ll be reminded that your body is not a project—it’s a temple. Come be equipped to fuel it with intention, encouraged to ditch shame for grace, and inspired to move forward—one meal, one step, one day at a time.

Brain Games

The human brain is a beautiful and intentional gift—uniquely designed by God and unlike anything else in creation. And yet, in today’s world, we’re seeing a heartbreaking rise in memory loss, developmental disorders, and neurological struggles—affecting everyone from the very young to the very old. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

At this month’s Teach 'n Preach, we’ll explore how to support the brain through every season of life. Whether it’s understanding brain development in children, navigating the shifts that happen during menopause, or guarding against Alzheimer’s and dementia, you’ll discover that there are practical, powerful ways to bolster your brain at every stage. We'll talk about spectrum and neurodivergence, how toxins like microplastics and heavy metals impact cognitive function, and what brain fog is really telling you. You’ll learn about the role of nutrition—especially healthy fats—in supporting memory, attention, and focus, as well as the deep connection between your gut and your brain. And of course, we’ll highlight why restful sleep is one of the most healing things you can give your brain.

No matter where you are on the journey, there are steps you can take to protect and strengthen this amazing organ. Come be encouraged, equipped, and reminded that your brain was made with purpose—and that healing and clarity are possible.
