July’s focus at Northgate Family Chiropractic is all about gut health, nutrition, and understanding how deeply the health of our gut impacts the rest of the body. From digestion and energy to mood, brain function, immunity, and inflammation, the gut plays a foundational role in overall wellness. Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing resources, conversations, and practical tools to help patients better understand how to support their body from the inside out.
Our July Teach ‘N Preach, “What the Gut?!” on Tuesday, July 21st from 6:00–7:30 PM, will dive into some of the biggest misconceptions surrounding gut health and nutrition. With so much marketing around probiotics, “gut healthy” products, detoxes, and trendy wellness advice, it can be difficult to know what is truly helpful. We’ll break down the differences between prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics, discuss misleading health claims in today’s market, and talk about why healing the gut is not a one-size-fits-all process.
We’ll also explore the connection between the gut and the brain, including how neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine are heavily influenced by gut health. Patients will learn about the importance of functional testing like the GI Effects test, the healing process behind the 4 R’s Protocol (Remove, Repair, Replace, Replenish), and practical ways to begin supporting their gut through nutrition and lifestyle. This month is all about learning to listen to your body, understanding the root causes of dysfunction, and equipping yourself with tools for long-term healing.
